Our Mission "Buffalo Prep provides talented, motivated low-income African American, Native American and Hispanic students with the academic personal preparedness to attain a consortium high school diploma and attend an appropriate leading college. Buffalo Prep enhances both the student and the consortium school experience, building peer support, an enriched academic environment, and the skills necessary to succeed in life." Our Vision "Academically promising minority students will have the opportunity to participate in an educational environment that prepares them for and links them to the best in college education. Possessing high expectations, commitment and perseverance, these students will be successful and evolve to positions of community leadership."
Buffalo Prep identifies and recruits talented minority students from low-income families, and helps prepare them for and place them in private high schools in Western New York. We serve two constituent groups: (1) our students, and (2) private high schools that have expressed a commitment to diversifying their student bodies. The increased diversity helps all students, families and staff members forge relationships and friendships that transcend racial, ethnic and economic differences. The diversity helps prepare all students for colleges and workplaces that will become more diverse as the United States demographics change. |
