Middle School Prep
Middle School Prep offers a challenging and enriching liberal arts-integrated academic and social summer program for academically talented fifth and sixth grade students. The program assists participants prepare to excel in school. Sessions supplement mainstream school curricula in numerous academic and social areas. In addition, the Buffalo Prep experience exposes the students to other educational opportunities in the Western New York community. This program
Post fifth and sixth grade students participate in integrated classes such as Math, Technology, Social Studies and Language Arts for five weeks during the summer. Classes run each day from Monday through Friday, starting at 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. In 2009, an academic program for 7th graders was added to fill the gap between the summer program and High School Prep. With the addition of this Middle School Prep Program, Buffalo Prep has a connected continuum of academic enrichment experiences beginning with the 5th grade and ending with college entrance. We utilize highly skilled, motivated instructors who teach in both public and private schools during the academic school year. Workshops are conducted on the Buffalo Prep site daily. Some examples of workshops include: Building Health Self-Esteem, Physical Education, Internet Research Techniques, Multimedia, Visual Arts and the Spoken Word.
